The Scole Experiment
The picture to the left is of Street Farmhouse at Scole in Norfolk. Robin and Sandra lived here for 15 years, from 1991 to 2006. It was always a very happy house even though, from moving in, they shared their tenancy with three “friendly ghosts”, all of whom they (and occasionally visitors) saw from time to time. It was also rumoured that the old coaching inn next door (the Scole Inn, built 1655) was haunted too! The garden of the house was always a picture, and boasted one rare tree – a weeping ash thee that was over 300 years old! Whilst they lived at Scole, Robin and Sandra researched the history of the house as far they were able; it appeared on pre-Scole Inn maps of the village, and was possibly built at the end of the 16th century.
Street Farm was a working farm until about 1988, when the previous tenant farmer retired.
It was in this large house (11 rooms and 2 cellars) that The Scole Experiment took place, actually from December 1992 to November 1998. The village of Scole itself is steeped in history from pre-Roman times. The Romans (who had a major settlement there), called their town “Villa Faustini”; a name which, in itself, almost suggests a measure of psychic activity. Even whilst Robin and Sandra were living there, the body of a Roman Centurion was discovered under the barn belonging to Street Farm.

The Scole Experiment chronicles the extraordinary results of a five-year investigation into life after death. At the beginning of 1993 four psychic researchers embarked on a series of experiments in the Norfolk village of Scole. The subsequent events were so astounding that senior members of the prestigious Society for Psychical Research asked to observe, test and record what took place.
The investigators encountered evidence favouring the hypothesis of intelligent forces… able to influence material objects, and to convey associated meaningful messages, both visual and aural.
